AESTHETIC CARE PROGRAM (DEP 5035)
Academy Umano offers a professional diploma in Aesthetics (5035) recognized by the Ministry of Education, Recreation and Sport of Québec (MELS).
Estheticians are professionally trained in the cosmetic treatment of the skin. They perform facials, apply revitalizing cream masks, and perform various treatments for any skin condition. Estheticians also perform waxing services: such as legs waxing, arms and face, and eyebrow shaping. Estheticians provide make-up services (day, evening, parties, bridal makeup, etc)
Estheticians also perform cosmetic beauty treatment for fingernails and hands, and improve the appearance of feet and nails. Manicure consists of filing, shaping, skin treatment, hand massage and the application of nail polish. Pedicure is a great way to enhance the appearance of feet and nails while preventing nail deseases.
The esthetician must have extensive knowledge in the field of cosmetology in order to advise clients in the selection and the use of cosmetics. The esthetician is also a cosmetologist. Estheticians participate in the sale of personal care products, makeup, and health care products. Therefore inventory management skills and knowledge of the trade, as well as accounting management skills are essential.

Admission requirements
To be admitted to this program, simply meet the following conditions:
Candidate holding the high school diploma or its recognized equivalent.
OR
Candidates who are at least 16 years of age by the 30th of September of the school year during which she began her training and got the fourth secondary units in language of instruction, second language and mathematics in programs study established by the Ministry of Education , or recognition of equivalent learning.
OR
Candidates who are at least 18 years of age at entry into the program and have the functional prerequisites: the successful completion of the general development test and the language of instruction FRA-2102-2, or learning recognized as equivalent.
OR
The candidate obtained the third secondary units in language of instruction, second language and mathematics in the curriculum established by the Minister and will continue their general education courses concurrently with their vocational training in order to obtain the fourth unit secondary it lacks in language of instruction, second language and mathematics in the curriculum established by the Minister.
