Milk chocolate bar, puffed quinoa and coffee - fair trade
A crispy and energizing recipe born from the collaboration between Umano and the fine artisanal chocolate factory Xocolatl.
Starting from the idea of the famous crunchy coffee chocolate bar, we reinvented this classic for a version that combines pleasure, health and ethics.
We hesitated for a while between creating this recipe with dark chocolate or milk chocolate... and we finally decided to do both!
The milk chocolate version leans a little more towards the edge of indulgence and offers us a little detour to the Caribbean with our organic chocolate. with milk and intense and fruity cocoa from the Dominican Republic.
It is always encrusted with small balls of quinoa from Bolivia and sprinkled with coffee from Peru.
The quinoa balls are obtained by a special extrusion technique which gives them an intense crunch. From the highlands of Bolivia, this organic quinoa. is imported by a Quebec company that has supported sustainable quinoa growing practices for several decades.
With approximately 1 gram of organic coffee. per 25 gram portion (half a tablet), it's a nice little boost of energy at the start or middle of the day. In addition, the theobromine contained in cocoa, combined with caffeine, creates a gentler stimulation which reduces the unwanted effects of coffee.
The result is an energizing and tasty snack, and sustaining thanks to the high protein content of quinoa.
