Coopake
Located in Orodara, in the west of Burkina Faso. The Coopake cooperative was created in 1963. Today, it occupies an area of 800 hectares of orchards and agricultural land.
Coopake is a pioneer in the circular economy with the valorization of cashew nut shells as fuel
No intensive cultivation but plots of sesame, dotted with shea trees, mango trees, cashew trees and hibiscus plants.
Certified organic for nearly twenty years, the cooperative owns 2 processing units which provide jobs to almost 300 employees.
Kaoka
Ginger Foor
The candied ginger sold at Umano grows in the Fujian region of China.
Ginger has been cultivated for over 3000 years, according to ancient traditions. The farmers live in a mountainous agricultural region very different from China's large, crowded urban centers.
Umano wants to show another face of the country that we generally know little about, a greener region with an ancestral culture, populated by women and men who take care of their environment and who aspire to a simple and peaceful life.
