Ground black pepper - organic / fair trade
Ground black pepper from Sri Lanka
Pepper is a climbing plant, like a kind of vine. It is often cultivated on a large scale, on deforested land, sheltered from the sun by large plastic-based nets.
Unlike these crops that are harmful to the environment, our organic pepper is grown in agroforestry in a system that combines, from the canopy to the ground, a variety of trees and food crops.
To obtain black pepper, the berries are harvested before maturity then dried in the sun before being carefully sorted and ground. Tested and controlled, our pepper is pure and contains only premium quality berries.
Finally, unlike cheap spices, ours are steam sterilized and not irradiated, in order to preserve their benefits and nutritional properties.
Our finely ground pure black pepper is intended for use in cooking. Preferably in the middle or end of cooking to maintain its potency and aroma. For seasoning after cooking, we recommend using our freshly ground peppercorns in your grinder.
